Lilli Pilli Football Club was delighted to participate for the first time in the 2018 Cook Classic Raffle. We're seeing more and more kids, particularly young girls, getting active and playing football through the winter. These much needed funds have been directed towards improving our amenities and facilities, which we will also make available to other community groups. The raffle gave many, individuals, families, teams and even some small businesses, an opportunity to help us continue in our quest for improved amenities. Thank you to the Cook Classic team for putting it all together.

Our fundraising achieved through the Cook Community Classic allowed us to support our female players to access an international opportunity to further their Water polo dreams. The amazing prizes ensured the tickets were easily sold, and we look forward to being involved again next year.

When the Hon. Scott Morrison became our local Federal Member he immediately wanted to create an event to celebrate life and to assist the community in his electorate of Cook. The four Surf Life Saving Clubs on the Bate Bay beaches were delighted to assist Scott with this endeavour and to give something back to the local community. Since its inception in 2008 the Cook Community Classic (CCC) Ocean Swim and surf life saving competition display have been the cornerstone of the CCC. The CCC runs over several weeks and features a Gala Ball, community raffles and other activities and culminates on the third Sunday in November each year with the Ocean Swim, displays, festivities and a fete on the beach at Cronulla. The CCC has always been very well supported by the local business community over the years including the IMB Bank as the lead sponsor. Many local charities have the opportunity to be involved in the CCC and raise much needed funds for their organisations. Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda SLSCs congratulate Scott on his initiative and have been honoured to be involved since inception.

We at Jacaranda Cottage remember the first Cook Community Classic. It was an overcast drizzly day, there were four charities supported and we were one of them. The next year there were more charities, and then more and then more. It has been a great event to be involved in since the start. We love that we get to know other charities that are doing great things in the Shire just like us. Each year we sell our EPIC cupcakes to raise money and awareness about homelessness and our little refuge. What we love, is that for some of our supporters in the community, it has become a tradition they do with their family to come down, buy a cupcake, and thank us for the work we are doing! We appreciate the work done in getting sponsors and prizes for the raffle tickets because as a little charity, we don't have the resources, contacts or time to source that. We just get to benefit from it! We are really grateful to be a part of such a great event!

For a non-profit community group like ours, this raffle has been a godsend and we make enough money each year to tide us over and to help offset our costs of running our meetings, such as hall hire and refreshments. Mr Morrison’s staff do a great job in getting excellent raffle prizes which make selling the tickets quite easy.
