The IMB Bank Cook Community Classic is a series of great community events that help us appreciate, support and value the local Sutherland Shire community. It’s about holding one great day of events that benefits many!
The primary focus of the IMB Bank Cook Community Classic is a large community event held each year in November at Cronulla Beach and the adjacent Cronulla Park. The Classic this year celebrates 12 years since its inception. This year the carnival is moving to Dunningham Park and North Cronulla Beach.
This year the event launch will be held on Monday 26 June at Elouera Surf Club, the Sylvania BMW / Caringbah Rotary Gala Ball will be held on 27 October at Doltone House Sylvania Waters capped off with the even finale at Dunningham Park & North Cronulla Beach on Sunday 18 November.
Through a series of activities including a community carnival, a fundraising raffle, an open water swim and gala ball “The Classic” provides a fundraising platform for St George and Sutherland Shire community groups – including sports clubs, local charities, school P&Cs and other community organisations. They can participate in this large scale event without having to attract sponsors, arrange prizes, organise venues and generate publicity to support their efforts. By pooling resources and holding one annual event, smaller organisations can raise significant funds and awareness for their cause through the combined efforts of the classic’s organising committee.

It is once again my great pleasure to serve as patron of the 2018 IMB Bank Cook Community Classic.
Now in its eleventh year, the Classic is a great family day out, celebrating and supporting local organisations that make our community strong.
To date the Classic has raised in excess of $1 million for over 78 local charities and community organisations such as Civic Disability Services, Project Youth, Giants Baseball Club, Sutherland Shire Lioness Club and many others.
The IMB Bank Cook Community Classic relies on the generous support of our local surf lifesaving clubs and I once again thank
Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda for their willingness to support our wider community.
I also extend my gratitude to all of the corporate sponsors, particularly IMB Bank who have been with the Classic since its inception and are once again the major sponsor. I thank them for their continued support.
All of the sponsors contribute to making the Classic an uplifting event which celebrates our community and brings it together.
The charities and community organisations supported through the Classic are run by dedicated staff, often volunteers, who make tremendous efforts to care for our community and beyond.
Please take the time to support these organisations by purchasing a ticket in the raffle or by coming along to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and taking part in the many activities on the day.
